Alina Fernandez, the daughter of Cuban President Fidel Castro

Please join us for this special program sponsored by The Office of Multicultural Affairs & SGA, HACC Lancaster Campus and the High Companies: In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are fortunate to present a special guest, Alina Fernandez, the daughter of Cuban President Fidel Castro. Fernandez will share with us her experience growing up as the child of one of the world’s most infamous leaders and the events that eventually led her to renounce his reign. As she grew older, the political practices she witnessed under her father’s regime and the neglect she experienced drove her to leave her homeland and to seek refuge in the United States. We hope you are able to join us in the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The extraordinary story of Fernandez experiences growing up under the shadow of Fidel Castro will be one with strength, emotion, and courage. Light refreshments will be served.

Recognizing Latino Student Achievement Banquet

Our keynote speaker, Alina Fernandez, the daughter of Cuban President Fidel Castro will recognize Latino students with a 3.0 G.P.A. or higher. Students and their families have been invited to this award ceremony.

Disability Awareness Day: Diversity, Another Way of Being Different

The Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Office of Disability Services are excited to present a unique case for the inclusion of disability into the diversity discussions. We will provide an enlightening and engaging panel discussion highlighting HACC students with a disability and how they are being successful on campus. Join us to hear how educators, management and students can increase their awareness and ensure that everyone in the workplace and school atmosphere is included and able to be successful! Light Refreshments will be served and giveaway door prizes. Special Presentation Guests include the PA Business Leadership Network and local community & service organizations.
